visual c++ and windows platform
technology
Higher Technology Solutions has significant experience developing solutions
using Visual C++ within the windows platform.
vc++ with com, dcom and atl
Once the cornerstone of windows development under windows, a huge amount of commercially
available software is based upon this technology. We have significant experience
of developing and maintaining software applications and servers based upon this
technology. We also have experience of moving from this technology towards
.NET solutions - both in terms of full and partial migration using .NET Interops,
P-Invoke and other methods.
We have experience using ATL to develop lightweight COM objects and also experience
of
DCOM (including advanced uses - such as custom marshalling). We have experience
of developing COM components using various apartment models (single, multiple thread
and thread neutral) in both single user and high concurrency environments
vc++ with mfc and stl
We have made significant use of the MFC and Standard Template Library during
development of software using Visual C++. Whilst we specialise developing
'server-side' software the MFC has been used in application tier development and
we have a good working knowledge of the use of the MFC in this area.
STL has been used significantly for various functionality - but largely for its
provision
of lightweight high performance collection classes.
vc++ and win32
Win32 has been extensively used in a number of areas including concurrency and
thread management, file-system management, inter-process communication, data transmission/reception
and a number of other functions.
vc++ and ole-db
OLE-DB has been extensilvly used within both transactional COM+ based environments
and outside transaction based environments. The use of OLE-DB has been limited
to the use of the OLE-DB consumer template classes.
